About An Evening with the Authors*
An Evening with the Authors* was created by Jim Leugers with the inaugural show taking place at the White Rabbit Cabaret in June 2014. Ever since then, Authors* has been running once a month at the Rabbit as well as making appearances in
Cincinnati, OH; Louisville, KY; Fort Wayne, IN; Detroit, MI; Chicago, IL; Philadelphia, PA; and St. Louis, MO. The show has participated in the Philly Sketchfest, IndyFringe, and Crossroads Comedy Festivals.
In September, 2021, Authors* expanded to Los Angeles, California.
We are a literary satire sketch comedy show wherein real comedians pose as accomplished authors who read from their (fake) novels, memoirs, blogs, and haphazardly collected pieces of paper. Hosted by the (fictitious) public radio host Dana Glass, the show features a host of characters ranging from a Cajun poet from the Bayou to a gentleman cat burglar, and an interdimensional wizard to a forest hag.
